Kaylee Mitchell

Kaylee is a trained labor and birth doula though DONA and CPR/first aid certified. She is a native to Florida after growing up in Gulf Breeze. Being a mom of three little boys keeps her on her toes and constantly brings new adventures in her free time. The lack of support she felt during the births of her boys initiated her interest in being a doula when she found herself without support in the operating room for her cesareans, not once, but all three times. Having eclampsia and preeclampsia has given her a different prospective on pregnancy and delivery and how interventions can be helpful tools during birth. She loves helping parents feel confident and capable as their families grow!

Mallorie Lehman

Originally from Wisconsin, Mallorie and her husband were stationed in Georgia and then England before their assignment to Florida. Shortly after arriving in Florida they welcomed their first child. The transition into motherhood was challenging and she relied on her doula through the process. This piqued her interest in becoming a doula herself. Since having her second son she has developed a love of all things pregnancy, birth, and postpartum related. Helping families transition into parenthood family has become a passion, and being a military wife without her own extended family in the area has provided her a unique perspective on how to help others in the same position. Mallorie brings a calming and relatable presence both in and out of the labor and birth setting. She lives with her husband and two boys in Navarre.

**Mallorie is available only for Postpartum and Sibling Doula Care at this time***

Hollie Carlisle

Hollie is a CAPPA, VBAC Link, and BS/CPR, certified labor and birth doula. Originally from Alamogordo, New Mexico, Hollie spent ten years in England as a military brat, then returned to New Mexico before settling down in Florida. She first learned what a doula was when she was pregnant with her second baby. After having a doula at the births of her second and third babies, Hollie knew that serving women as their families grew was what she wanted to do! After seeing the power of VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean) and Hypnobabies births, she decided to pursue further training and become a specialized doula in both these areas. She enjoys helping moms feel excited, confident and prepared during their pregnancies and birth experiences. She is married to her best friend, and together they have a blended family with six kids, and live in Navarre. She enjoys crafting, gardening, going to the gym, shopping at target and drinking coffee.

Hollie now serves as a primary birth assistant in the Belly to Cradle birth center, and is unfortunately no longer available to provide doula care.

Lindsey Roderick

Lindsey is a Doula certified through BEST Doula Training and The VBAC Link, a childbirth educator and certified birth assistant. She is also a USAF veteran and Georgia transplant to the Pensacola area. She was brought to birthwork by her own birth journeys and a desire to support families in whatever way they choose to give birth. She loves educating families on all of their options and helping them discover what their best births look like! Vaginal Birth After Cesarean (VBAC) holds a special place in her heart, leading her to train as a VBAC doula through The VBAC Link. Lindsey contributes a sense of non-judgemental calm and understanding through whatever circumstances her clients' births present. As she likes to say, “I don’t hold babies, I hold mothers.”

In 2020, she became co-owner and operator of BTC alongside founder, Amber Roman, and completed her birth assistant certification through the American Association of Birth Centers (AABC). She lives with her husband and their three kids—a boy and two girls—in Milton.

The Belly to Cradle
Philosophy

Prayer is Powerful. Some expectant parents value this power as well, and choose to integrate it into their birth experience as a way to relieve anxiety, frustration, fear, and tension.

Birth is a biological process. In a vast majority of cases, pregnancy and birth are not illnesses and do not cause illness, and in most circumstances (but not all) it is not an emergency. Therefore, childbearing should not be treated like an illness or an emergency unless the  mother, baby, or both are in danger, as defined by evidence-based medical parameters.

Evidence and science balance birth. While birth is generally a natural process, nature has historically proven itself as a harsh taskmaster in the absence of safe, smart, evidence-based medicine. Balancing nature with evidence and science is a fantastic way to optimize all aspects of birth care.

Each woman's body is different, but specifically designed to give birth to her baby.
Each woman's birth will be different, and each woman will have different births each time she has a baby.

Patient autonomy is a necessity. Informed consent and right to refusal are key components to any birth.

Instincts are crucial. You will know what to do when the time comes--but you may find yourself seeking guidance, advice, and suggestions from your birth team. Thus, the people you choose to allow in your birthing space and on your birth team have a great influence on your birth.

Healthcare Providers should be respected. Without doctors, midwives, and nurses, many expectant mothers would face risks, complications, and health concerns that would not be addressed--to the detriment of mother and baby. These professionals deserve respect as key parts of the birth team.
