From a Dad's perspective: I am not quite sure how we would have gotten through this birth without the help of a doula. Especially being first time parents. To me, hiring a doula is one of the most underrated areas in the birth process. With all the education, help in labor, and support; the decision to use Amber's services was definitely a no brainer in retrospect. She was vital to the succesful, healthy birth of our son Ezra. Thank you.

Amber has so much valuable knowledge that she openly shares, and is an amazingly strong support/advocate for everyone involved--mom, dad, and baby! I honestly can't (and don't really want to) imagine what my birth experience would have been like without Amber's care. There were so many defining moments in which Amber made all the difference for the better.
Even as a health care professional myself, I found it very difficult to interact with my providers during the birth process. and I was surprised at how discouraging they could be, even with the best of intentions. Amber was the firm, yet respectful "middle person" that I feel every woman needs in that situation. It's difficult to put into words the depth of my gratitude for Amber's support during my 3-day adventure. There was a great deal of peace that came from knowing that we had a very knowledgeable person on our side who truly understood my goals and wishes and what I was capable of. This is a huge part of what made my experience a great one, despite all the twists and turns, and there's really no price to put on that. Truly hoping to be able to work with Amber again!

During my first pregnancy I had the pleasure of having Amber as my doula. She was there for extra support and guidance throughout my pregnancy and birthing process. After finding out I had to have a natural labor without an epidural due to medical complications, I felt a doula was a great alternative. During my 2nd and 3rd trimesters I attended several classes she taught including prenatal, infant care, and birthing classes.
She met with my husband and me several times to answer questions/concerns and develop a birth plan to fit me. She was very informative regarding issues that came up along the pregnancy. Without the hope of an epidural, she was able to research pain management options that would be best for me After finding out I was a high risk pregnancy, she was able to educate me so that I could make decisions to ensure the safety of both me and my baby. Amber was not biased in any way about our personal birthing choices; she was very compassionate, helpful, and sweet.
Amber was a blessing at the hospital. She assisted my husband with pressure techniques to help me through labor as she guided me in birthing positions and breathing techniques which kept me focused. I would strongly recommend Amber as a doula for any woman going through pregnancy. Hiring a doula has been one of the best decisions I ever made.

I had educated myself with books, magazines, breastfeeding and birthing classes because this was my first pregnancy. However, I kept feeling like I needed more to prepare myself for a natural birth. This is why I looked into getting a doula. Since no one in my family had ever hada natural birth, I definitely needed someone who could help me throughout this whole process and keep me on track.
I didn’t have Amber as a doula through my whole pregnancy, but she was able to meet with me for adequate amounts of time to get us where we needed to be on our labor and delivery plans. She even helped us while we were going through the transition of obtaining a new midwife. Her suggestions were very informative and beneficial. She was able to assist with fine-tuning our birth plan as well.
She was not only knowledgeable about the birth process, butalso about breastfeeding. What impressed me the most was her willingness to help me after the birth of our baby. I dealt with cracked nipples, Reynaulds phenomenon, fibrocystic breasts, and mastitis twice. Her advice helped me return to being healthy and happy. She was even able to give me breastfeeding support during the time I had to strictly pump.
I would recommend Amber as a doula for anyone, especially first-time pregnancies or women who want to try having their baby with minimal medical intervention.

Being pregnant with our first child, my husband and I felt unprepared. I had read many books, but we had not taken any birth or child rearing classes. Honestly, we are not the type of people who feel comfortable taking a Lamaze class because of the awkwardness of being around so many other couples. A friend of mine is friends with Amber and recommended that I look at her website which I did and decided that I would be interested in meeting Amber.
Amber has insight into the hospitals in the Pensacola area which we found to be a huge asset because her obvious familiarity with the layout of the hospital, and with the hospital staff made us feel more comfortable there during our stay. Amber is also knowledgeable about medical procedures and natural birth and will give you any information you need to make an informed decision without making you feel like she is directing your choice. We felt very well educated by the time we were headed to the hospital, which made the actual labor less scary.
Amber is a caring person and she will follow-up with you often to make sure you have everything you need. She reminds you that she is there for you before, during, and after labor, which I found to be a great comfort. In my situation, Amber was almost more of help to my husband as she was able to calm his worries and give him information throughout the process. This helped him to be an even more effective coach for me.
Most importantly, Amber is a Christian and her testimony is strong as a loving friend who genuinely cares about you, your husband, your child, and the changes that will take place within your family. She prayed with us before we left for the hospital, and afterwards my husband told me that she would step aside during my labor at times for additional prayer. The most helpful thing that she could possibly have done was to pray for the exact needs of our family as they occurred and reminded all of us that it is God who is ultimately in control of the situation.
